2016 is HERE

Firstly, where has this year gone?

I feel (like most of my readers I'm sure) like I blinked and all of a sudden I was in December.  Not enough hours in the day to get everything done, lets prioritise and see if you can't make you feel even just alittle more organised leading into 2016.

Whether we are ready for it or not the year will tick over tomorrow and we will be dancing ahead into another exciting year.  I've given you some great tips below to make sure you get off on the right foot come January 1st 2016.

Tidy All Paperwork

They say that those who fail to plan, plan to fail.  The same is true for our home, office, personal life and business.  Start the year how you intend to finish it.  Organised, clean, tidy and prepared.  The feeling of being organised even if it's just tidying up (because with one day left filing that big pile of paperwork seems impossible) will help move that grey unorganised cloud that follows you around and help you see some light.

- Throw out unnecessary receipts

- Clean desk/office space

- Clean your computer desktop

- Do a quick wardrobe clear out

- Clear off the fridge or 'storage' draw... (you know the one we all have where we put things like school newsletters, and old birthday cards)

Set Goals

Now, goals don't have to be huge, and you certainly don't want them to be unrealistic.  You want to make sure they are motivating and well thought through.  If you drink 20 cans of diet coke every day, giving up coke isn't realistic.  Dropping back to 1 or 2 cans however might be.  Write them down and put them somewhere you are going to look at them occasionally.  They need to motivate you daily, they need to add value to your life, your business and/or your family.  Chat about your goals with your family, friends or loved ones.  Make them hold you accountable.  They shouldn't be scary, if you can't talk about them or write them down chances are that you won't be sticking to them.

Buy a diary, or get your 2016 refills

For some of you the computer diary or calendar will be sufficient but for others (like me) we need to have it written down in black and white, somewhere we can look at it and reference back to it and cross things off ( I love LISTS).  If this is you and you don't have a diary yet... go tomorrow! QUICK.  There is nothing better than feeling as though you have started your year organised... hoping obviously to finish that way ;)

Colour coordinate your diary, one colour for home, one for the kids, one for work and another for you.  It will help keep things bright even if your diary becomes full and overwhelming.

2016 is going to be a big year, feeling organised means that you can start the year with a fresh attitude and stay on track with the goals and achievements you have on your horizon.  We can't wait to see what the year holds for our readers and we look forward to meeting lots of you at our upcoming evets and markets right around the country.

Happy New Year

Cheers, to an awesome 2016!
